LEAD BY EXAMPLE puts words in the mouths of male world leaders to underscore the harrowing reality of their failure to address gender-violence in a substantive way. Appearing at first like television news, the “mock-umentary” becomes a fantasy about a world where international leaders directly and earnestly invite men to participate in preventing gender-violence. The video imagines doctrinaire leaders like Kim Jong-un, Vladimir Putin, and other supportive international colleagues in unanimous agreement about one thing - imploring men to prevent violence. The video allows viewers to dream of a time when world policymakers might "lead by example."
